Assertion: Things that matter are hard. Having the courage to try the hard things are hard. We have an infinite supply of things to do. Some are easy and some are hard.

Thus: Build a Habit of identifying the Hard parts. Do those first. If you rationalize doing the easy things first, you’ll have an infinite stream of easy but less impactful activities. But how does this square with an agile YNGTNI approach? 🤔

Example: I was talking to someone trying to create a two-sided market. The pitch was a large consumer base drives supplier signups. They were complaining of a lack of investor traction despite many LOIs from suppliers. Of course. The hard part is getting the consumers. Why doesn’t he try to prove traction in the consumers… because it’s hard. True, but if their venture is going to fly, they need to prove they can do the hard things first.

Conclusion: Do the hard parts first.
